Exporting from MuseScore

Before exporting MIDI from MuseScore

Before exporting MIDI from MuseScore, сonfirm that the correct articulations and dynamics are played within MuseScore. This will increase the probability of getting the best results in Artinfuser Studio.

Please see the recommendations below to achieve the best results from the automatic performance. The techniques in green will be automatically exported from MuseScore, the techniques in yellow may require additional work, and the techniques in red cannot be exported.

Technique Recommendation
Tempo Exported automatically.
Pizzicato Exported automatically.
Rhythmic feel Exported automatically (like swing).
Ornaments symbols Exported automatically.
Appoggiatura, acciaccatura Exported automatically.
Arpeggio symbol Exported automatically.
Mute text Exported automatically.
Trill symbol Exported automatically.
Tremolo with next note Exported automatically as a trill.
Dynamics Exported automatically. Dynamics below ppp and above fff will be exported as ppp and fff respectively.
Drum set notation Exported automatically.
Accent symbol Exported automatically by adding one dynamic level to note (e.g. mf instead of mp).
Pedal Exported automatially.
Tremolo Exported automatically.
Crescendo / decrescendo MuseScore will export the dynamic assigned to the beginning of each note: one dynamic per note. Any additional dynamics assigned to the same note will not be exported, including crescendo / decrescendo inside note.
Staccato text MuseScore cannot export technique texts such as "staccato", "marcato", and "spiccato". It is possible to use a staccato dot symbol over the note, but please confirm that the resulting note length is not too long (MuseScore decreases the note length 2 times for notes with a dot). Slower tempos may need the quarter notes to be replaced by eighth notes followed by eighth rests. If longer notes are required to be played as a staccato, increase the "Auto staccato" parameter in the instrument configuration.
Slurs MuseScore will export the slurs, which will be converted to legato in Artinfuser Studio by default. There is an option to add legato transitions automatically even if there are no slurs present in the score. Please note that MuseScore could export the notes without slurs as notes with slurs. It is recommended to use Sibelius or Finale to achieve better results with the slurs.
Sforzando MuseScore cannot export the sforzando music text. Please change the dynamics or add accent music symbols.
Divisi MuseScore will not export the divisi text, but if all the voices of an instrument have the same rhythm, they will be played by separate instruments. In order to have multiple voices with different rhythms played back by the same non-polyphonic instrument (other than Piano, Organ, percussion etc.), it is required to manually divide them into separate staves before exporting them from MuseScore.
Flutter tongue MuseScore cannot export the flutter tongue (frullato) technique text. By adding a tremolo to a note it will be exported as flutter tongue.
Sul ponticello, Sul tasto, Dampened, Con sordino, Harp open harmonic MuseScore cannot export these technique texts. If this technique is needed, create a new staff, transfer the notes that require this technique and once imported to Artinfuser Studio the user will be able to select the correct instrument configuration. Do not forget to assign a dynamic to the transferred notes.
Tenuto MuseScore cannot export the tenuto symbol. It must be replaced with an accent symbol or a louder dynamic.
Glissando MuseScore will export the glissando symbols automatically, but this is not yet implemented in Artinfuser Studio. At the moment there is no way to achieve the glissando sound.

Advanced

Seems that MuseScore does not allow to change MIDI File Type and tick resolution for exported MIDI files, but even if you find how to change this, always choose MIDI File Type 1 with default tick resolution 480.
